Methyl idodide (15 μL, 0.24 mmol) is added to a solution of 4-(1-(3-(difluoromethyl)-phenyl)-2,5-dioxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1H-cyclopenta[d]pyrimidin-4-yl)-3-(methyl-sulfonyl)benzonitrile (example 15.4, 69 mg, 0.15 mmol) and cesium carbonate (98 mg, 0.30 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (1.0 mL). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 1 h and purified by reversed phase HPLC (Waters SunFire™-C18, gradient of acetonitrile in water, 0.1% TFA). Yield: 19 mg; ESI mass spectrum [M+H]+=472; Retention time HPLC: 0.97 min (Z018_S04).
