Procedure
the compound (2.6 g, 10.5 mmol) of Step 1 of Example 21, NBS (2.06 g, 11.58 mmol), BPO (catalytic amount), and carbon tetrachloride (120 mL) were added, and heated under reflux overnight. After cooling, the solvent was distilled away. After diluted with ethyl acetate, the resultant was washed with water and saturated brine, and then dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was distilled away, and the resulting residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate) to thus obtain the title compound.
