4-(Pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)pyridin-2(1H)-one (138 mg, 0.682 mmol) and tert-butyl 7-bromo-9-methyl-3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole-2(9H)-carboxylate (250 mg, 0.68 mmol) were reacted following the procedure of Example 30 (step g) to provide the title compound (170 mg, 51%) as a white foam: 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.63 (d, J=4.1 Hz, 1H), 7.76 (overlapping ddd, J=7.7, 1.7 Hz, 1H), 7.53 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1H), 7.48 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 7.33 (d, J=7.4 Hz, 1H), 7.29-7.26 (m overlapping with solvent, 2H), 7.01 (dd, J=8.2, 1.8 Hz, 1H), 6.12-6.07 (m, 2H), 5.19 (s, 2H), 4.63 (s, 2H), 3.74 (br s, 2H), 3.62 (s, 3H), 2.79 (s, 2H), 1.51 (s, 9H).
