To a solution of (R)-(1-(6-amino-5-nitropyridin-2-yl)piperidin-3-yl)(pyrrolidin-1-yl)methanone (150 mg, 0.47 mmol) in ethanol (20 mL) was added 10% palladium-on-carbon (100 mg). The reaction mixture was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere using a balloon filled with hydrogen gas for 2 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture was filtered through Celite and the residue was rinsed with ethanol under a nitrogen atmosphere. The filtrate was used without further purification.
