To a stirred solution of (R)-(1-(4-amino-5-nitropyrimidin-2-yl)piperidin-3-yl)(pyrrolidin-1-yl)methanone (300 mg, 0.937 mmol) in ethanol (15 mL) was added a wet suspension of palladium on carbon 10% (300 mg) in ethanol under a nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixture was hydrogenated using a balloon filled with hydrogen gas at room temperature for 2 h. The suspension was filtered through celite and the filtrate was used for the next step without further purification.
