- 80 °C
Procedure
Into a four-necked flask, 180 wt. parts of nitrogen-aerated water and 20 wt. parts of aqueous solution containing 0.2 wt. part of polyvinyl alcohol were charged, followed further by addition of 77 wt. parts of styrene, 22 wt. parts of n-butyl acrylate, 1.4 wt. parts of benzolyl peroxide and 0.2 wt. part of divinylbenzene, followed by stirring to obtain a suspension liquid. Thereafter, the interior of the flask was replaced by nitrogen, and the system was heated to 80° C. to effect 10 hours of polymerization at that temperature, thereby producing a styrene-n-butyl acrylate copolymer.
