Procedure

A solution of 7-chloro-6-(2-chloroethyl)-3-mesityl-2,5-dimethylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (500 mg,1.38 mmol), thiourea (105 mg, 1.38 mmol)and sodium carbonate (180 mg, 1.73 mmol) in ethanol (10 mL) was heated under reflux for one hour. After evaporating, water was added and the resulting crystals were collected by filtration. The crystals were washed with water, to give the title compound (436 mg) as white crystals.
