Procedure

A solution of the compound of example 4 (8.7 g) in acetone (300 ml) was added with 5% Pd/C (9 g) (water content≅50%) and hydrogenated at 40 psi in a Parr apparatus for 2.5 h. The catalyst was filtered on a celite pad and the filtrate evaporated to dryness. The oily residue was dissolved in diethyl ether, dried (Na2SO4) and evaporated again. 8 g of orange oil were obtained (yield 90%).
