Reaction Steps

To a solution of 2-methyl-5-(2-pyrrolidin-1-yl-ethyl)-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid benzyl ester (70 mg, 0.19 mmol) in methylene chloride (1 mL) was added hydrogen chloride in diethyl ether. The resulting mixture was concentrated in vacuo and triturated with diethyl ether to give 61 mg (79%) of titled compound as a white foam: mp 76-78° C.; Anal. Calcd for C23H27Cl1N2O2.2.9H2O: C, 61.23; H, 7.33; N, 6.21. Found: C, 60.83; H, 6.93; N, 5.92.
