Acetic anhydride (2 mL) was added to a solution of N-[(8-phenyl-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-8-yl)methyl]-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzenemethanamine (Example 19, 291 mg, 0.61 mmol) in pyridine (5 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate (25 mL). The mixture was washed with aqueous copper sulphate (5%, 2×25 mL) and brine (25 mL), dried (MgSO4) and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (316 mg, 100%). m/z (ES+) 516 (M+1).
