Reaction Steps
1.0 equivalent of 2,6-dichlorophenyl isothiocyanate was treated with 1.0 equivalent of 2,3-diaminophenol and heated to reflux for 1 h. After cooling to RT, the precipitate was filtered off with suction, washed with ether, and dried. The desired thiourea was obtained in a yield of 61%. M.p.: 202-204° C.
