Reaction Steps
4-(2-phenoxy-ethyl)-benzoic acid (387 mg) was further reduced with LiAlH4, condensed with (R)-2-isocyanato-3-phenyl-propionate of formula 5 and hydrolyzed as described for example in Example 1, Steps 2-4, to yield about 550 mg of 2-[4-(2-phenoxy-ethyl) -benzyloxycarbonylamino]-3-phenyl-propionic acid 73, mp. 150.2-152.4° C.
