Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of 3,5-Dichloro-N-[4-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-benzyl]-isonicotinamide (105 mg, 0.32 mmol) in anhydrous CH2Cl2 (2.4 mL) was added Dess-Martin periodinane (206 mg, 0.48 mmol). The resultant solution was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The mixture was diluted with 100 mL CH2Cl2, filtered through celite, and concentrated in vacuo. The crude product (74 mg, 71%) was used in the next step without further purification.
