Procedure

Using the procedure of Example 10, 10 g of crude 5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl acetic acid were reacted with diazomethane to obtain 5.9 of methyl-5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl-acetate with a b.p. of 70°-72° C. at 0.6-0.7 mm and a refractive index nD =1.4495.
