Reaction Steps
54 g of the methyl ester obtained according to (b) are suspended in 50 ml of 1 N NaOH and heated, while stirring, on the steam bath. When a clear solution has formed, the whole is allowed to cool and the free acid is precipitated with the aid of 1 N-HCl. The 4-phenoxy-3-(1-pyrrolidinyl)-5-methylsulphamoylbenzoic acid melting at 245°-248° C. with decommposition is obtained by recrystallisation from methanol/water.
