Procedure
6.4 Grams of 3-amino-1-ethyl-piperidine and 7.4 grams of phthalic anhydride were heated together in an oil bath at 150° C. for 20 minutes. On cooling, the resulting solid was recrystallized twice from methanol to give 4.2 grams of the title compound. Melting Point: 155° C.
