Reaction Steps
An excess of a solution of diazomethane in ether is added to an ethereal solution of 2-(4-chlorophenoxy)-3,3,3-trifluoro-2-trifluoromethylpropionic acid (0.25 g.) at 0° C. Evaporation of the resulting solution yields methyl 2(4chlorophenoxy)-3,3,3-trifluoro-2-trifluoromethylpropionate (0.25 g.), b.p. (bath temperature) 140° C. at 30 mm. pressure.
