Reaction Steps
Two grams of the acid obtained in Example 4 was heated with 10 ml of a 5 N aqueous solution of NaOH in 50 ml of ethylene glycol at 150° C. for 12 hours. The product mixture was acidified with hydrochloric acid and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was treated with the chromatography of silicagel to obtain 0.5 g of the above intended compound.
