A solution of 6.44 g of the product of Step C in 60 ml of chloroform was added at +10° C. to a solution of 10.2 g of N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-1,4-diamino-butane in 150 ml of chloroform and after stirring for 2 hours at room temperature, the mixture was evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure. The product was added to water and vacuum filtered to obtain 7.85 g of the desired product melting at 86° C.
