1.037 g of the above product (S)-β-[(1-phenyl-6-chloro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)amino]benzenepropanol was then dissolved in 25 ml CHCl3. Next, 1.38 ml thionyl chloride was added and the reaction was allowed to stir overnight. It was then placed in a freezer at -28° C.
