Reaction Steps
A solution of 8 g of 5,8,11-eicosatriynoic acid and 5.62 g of carbonyldiimidazole in 40 cm3 of anhydrous DMF is brought to 80° C. for 3 hours under an inert atmosphere. 3.25 g of ethanolamine are then added at 0° C. After 2 hours, it is verified by thin layer chromatography that the starting acid is completely converted.
