3.8 g (25 mmol) of methyl 5-aminopyridine-2-carboxylate are dissolved in 75 ml of anhydrous pyridine and treated in portions with 5.8 g (30 mmol) of 4-fluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride, the temperature of the reaction solution increasing to 35° C. After 1 h, the mixture is concentrated in vacuo, and the residue is triturated with water, filtered off with suction, washed with water and dried. 7.3 g of product are obtained, M.p. 183°-185° C.
