Procedure
7-amino-2-ethoxy-4H-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one acetate (1.0 g) is dissolved in 50 ml water containing a stoichiometric equivalent of sulfuric acid, and the solution evaporated to dryness. The product is suspended in ether and filtered, air dried and recrystallized from methanol/acetone to yield 2-ethoxy-5-ethyl-4H-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one sulfate.
