Reaction Steps
A suspension of 5.7 g (20 mmole) of 7-chloro-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid, 10.3 (80 mmole) of 3-ethylaminomethylpyrrolidine and 125 ml of acetonitrile was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 hours after an initial exotherm (60° C.). The solid was removed by filtration, washed with acetonitrile, and dried in vacuo to give 6.0 g (80%) of the title compound, mp 268°-270° C.
