To a solution of 62.6 mg (0.267 mmol) of 2-(methylsulfonyl)benzenesulfonimidamide and 73.5 mg (0.21 mmol) of phenyl(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-carbamate in 1.3 mL of dry acetonitrile was added 0.04 mL (0.27 mmol) of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene. After 45 minutes at room temperature, 1.3 mL of water and 0.65 mL of 5% HCl were added. A solid precipitated out of solution. This material was isolated by filtration, washed with ether to give 60 mg of a white solid; m.p. 135° to 145° C. (d).
