Procedure
1.2 Grams (7.7 m-mol) of salicyloyl chloride and 1.0 g (4.9 m-mol) of 6-(p-aminophenyl)-5-methyl-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinone in 10 ml of benzene were stirred for 6 hours at 50° C. After cooling, the resultant crystals were washed with benzene and recrystallized from methanol-water whereby 750 mg of the title compound was obtained. M.P. 218°-220° C.
