This material was prepared by coupling 7-chloro-2-(trimethylstannyl)thieno[3,2-b]pyridine 39a (0.478 g, 1.44 mmole) with 2-bromo-6-methoxypyridine (0.177 ml, 1.44 mmole) using tereakis (triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (67 mg) as catalyst in a manner as previously described for example 39b to give a pale yellow solid (0.249 g, 63%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ8.56 (1H, d, J=5.1 Hz), 7.98 (1H, s), 7.66 (3H, m), 6.75 (1H, d, J=8.3 Hz), 4.05 (3H, s); ESIMS (MH+): 276.95.
