This material was prepared from 6-methoxy-1,2-dimethyl-1H-indol-3-carboxylic acid pyridin-2-ylamide 69a by treatment with BBr3 in a manner as previously described for example 1d. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ8.29 (1H, m), 8.24 (1H, d, J=8.3 Hz), 7.82 (1H, m), 7.64 (1H, d, J=8.7 Hz), 7.12 (1H, m), 6.82 (1H, d, J=2.2 Hz), 6.76 (1H, dd, J=2.2, 8.7 Hz), 3.66 (3H, s), 2.69 (3H, s). LCMS (ESI+) [M+H]/z Calc'd 282, found 282.
