Reaction Steps

To a solution of 1-methoxycarbonylmethylidenyl-4-phenyl-4-(3-(2-methoxyphenyl)-3-oxo-2-azaprop-1-yl)-cyclohexane (29.2 mg, 0.074 mmol) in a mixture of EtOAc/methanol (5 mL/5 mL) was added Pd/C (10%) (32 mg) and the reaction mixture was shaken under 50 psi of H2 for 16 h. The mixture was filtered through a plug of celite, concentrated and the residue was purified by HPLC (Waters RCM, μ Porosil, 25 mm×10 cm) using a mixture of (5:4:1 hexane-methyl tert-butyl ether-acetonitrile:hexane, 2.25/8.0 to 3.6/7.0 mL/min) to give the separated isomers of the title compound.
