Using a similar procedure to that described in Example 275, 1-(4-pyridinyl)piperidin-4-ylcarboxylic acid (2.0 g, 9.7 mmol), thionyl chloride (1.4 m L, 19 mmol), and 2-amino-N-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)-4-methoxycarbonylbenzamide (2.8 g, 9.2 mmol) afforded, after purification by column chromatography (SiO2: 5 to 10% [2.0 N ammonia in methanol]:methylene chloride), 0.40 g (9%) of the title compound.
