N,N-Bis[2-[bis(carboxymethyl)amino]ethyl]-3,5-dibromo-O-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-L-tyrosine, prepared according to Example 13 Step A, was monoiodinated in the outer ring with I2/KI at room temperature. The solution was concentrated, then acidified to pH 1 with 37% HCl and purified by preparative HPLC. Yield 61%.
