2.0 g of ethyl [3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]acetate (Example 2) and 2.0 g of 2-amino-1,3-propanediol are boiled under reflux for 3 h in 8 ml of ethanol. The crystals precipitating on cooling are recrystallized from isopropanol. After drying, 2-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]-N-(2-hydroxy-1-hydroxymethylethyl)acetamide remains as colorless less crystals of m.p. 212-214° C.
