A mixture of 2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-5-carboxylic acid dimethylamide (40.8 mg, 0.2 mmol), 4-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1-carbaldehyde (1 eq.) and 0.1 mL of piperidine in ethanol (1 mL) was heated in a sealed tube at 80° C. for 3 hours. The precipitate was collected by vacuum filtration, washed with ethanol and dried to give the title compound as a yellow solid.
