存在于酵素母、高等植物及动物中。商品通常是从牛肝中提取得到的结晶，悬浮在2mol·L-1硫酸铵溶液的悬浮液。Ph为7。每ml含20mg酶，活力为每毫克含酶45万单位。12个月内无降低活性现象，其水溶液可在数月后出现微浑浊。

用途与应用
概述
谷氨酸脱氢酶（GDH）是催化谷氨酸氧化脱氨或其逆反应的一类不需氧脱氢酶。生物体内存在广泛，是体内催化L-氨基酸脱去氨基反应中能力最强的一种酶，在氨基酸的联合脱氨作用中起重要作用。
用途
常用诊断有酶。可将L-谷氨酸转变为α-胶酮酸。测定血氨。
