Anwendungen & Verwendung

Beschreibung

Milbemycin A3 is a member of a complex family of macrocyclic lactones that contain a characteristic spiroketal group produced from the fermentation of soil bacterium S. hygroscopicus subsp. aureolacrimosus. As a compound that potentiates glutamate and GABA-gated chloride-channel opening, milbemycin A3 is used as a nematocide and insecticide. The acaricidal and nematocidal activity of a mixture of milbemycin A3 and milbemycin A4 against adult spider mites, spider mite eggs, and C. elegans are reported at IC50 values of 5.3, 41.1, and 9.5 μg/ml.

Verwenden

Milbemycins are a complex family of macrocyclic lactones containing a highly characteristic spiroketal group, produced by Streptomyces hydroscopicus subsp. aureolarcrimosus. Milbemycin A3 is a major member of a group of analogues containing a 25-methyl substituent. Milbemycin A3 is a highly selective and potent nematocide and insecticide. Like the closely related avermectins, milbemycins are thought to act on chloride-gated ion channels.

avoid inhalation of smoke and fumes. Contain runoff by diking to prevent entry into sewers or waterways. /Ultiflora Miticide/
LagerbedingungenDo not use or store near heat or open flame. Store in original container and keep closed. Store in a cool, dark place. Do not contaminate other pesticides, fertilizers, water, foodstuffs, or feed by storage and disposal. /Ultiflora Miticide/
ReinigungsverfahrenKeep material out of streams and sewers. Dike to confine spill and absorb with an absorbent such as clay, sand or soil. Vacuum, shovel or pump wastes into a drum for later disposal. Wash area with water and detergent thoroughly and collect washwaters into a drum for later disposal. /Ultiflora Miticide/
EntsorgungsverfahrenSRP: The most favorable course of action is to use an alternative chemical product with less inherent propensity for occupational exposure or environmental contamination. Recycle any unused portion of the material for its approved use or return it to the manufacturer or supplier. Ultimate disposal of the chemical must consider: the material's impact on air qualitypotential migration in soil or watereffects on animal, aquatic, and plant lifeand conformance with environmental and public health regulations.Do not contaminate water, foodstuff or feed by disposal. Open dumping or burning of this product or its packaging is prohibited. Burning in an incinerator can be made in accordance with local relevant laws and regulations. However, the appropriate regulatory agencies should be contacted prior to disposal, because acceptable methods of disposal may vary by location, and regulatory requirements may change. ... /Ultiflora Miticide/This product is toxic to fish ... Drift or runoff from treated area may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring aquatic site. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. /Ultiflora Miticide/... UmweltverhaltenTERRESTRIAL FATE: Based on a classification scheme(1), an estimated Koc value of 38,600(SRC), determined from a log Kow of 5.9(2) and a regression-derived equation(3), indicates that milbemectin is expected to be immobile in soil(SRC). Volatilization of milbemectin from moist soil surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process(SRC) given an estimated Henry's Law constant of 3.8X10-15 atm-cu m/mole(SRC), using a fragment constant estimation method(4). Milbemectin is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon a vapor pressure of 9.8X10-11 mm Hg at 20 °C(5). The half-life of milbemectin in soil was reported to range from 16 to 33 days(2).AQUATIC FATE: Based on a classification scheme(1), an estimated Koc value of 38,600(SRC), determined from a log Kow of 5.9(2) and a regression-derived equation(3), indicates that milbemectin is expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment(SRC). Volatilization from water surfaces is not expected(3) based upon an estimated Henry's Law constant of 3.8X10-15 atm-cu m/mole(SRC), developed using a fragment constant estimation method(4). According to a classification scheme(5), an estimated BCF of 7000(SRC), from its log Kow(2) and a regression-derived equation(6), suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is very high(SRC). Biodegradation data for milbemectin in water were not located(SRC, 2008)however, a biodegradation half-life of 16-33 days in soil(2) suggests biodegradation in natural water may be an important environmental fate process(SRC). Milbemectin is reported to hydrolyze in alkaline media(2)however, no rate for this reaction was reported.ATMOSPHERIC FATE: According to a model of gas/particle partitioning of semivolatile organic compounds in the atmosphere(1), milbemectin, which has a vapor pressure of 9.8X10-11 mm Hg at 20 °C(2), is expected to exist solely in the particulate phase. Particulate-phase milbemectin may be removed from the air by wet or dry deposition(SRC). Milbemectin contains chromophores that absorb at wavelengths >290 nm and therefore may be susceptible to direct photolysis by sunlight(3).
Ökotoxizitätsauszüge/OTHER TERRESTRIAL SPECIES/ Apis mellifera (honeybee) cage study with Milbeknock 1% EC - endpoints: mortality, foraging, brood - dosages: 27.9 active substance (as)/hectare (ha) (exposure to dried residues), 2.96 g as/ha (direct spray) and 7.5 g as/ha (direct spray) - effects: no effects at the three tested dosages. /Milbeknock 1% EC/ /From table/
Soil Adsorption/MobilityThe Koc of milbemectin is estimated as 38,600(SRC), using a log Kow of 5.9(1) and a regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this estimated Koc value suggests that milbemectin is expected to be immobile in soil(SRC).
Natural Pollution SourcesMilbenectin is a mixture of natural compounds (milbemycins) is derived from the soil microorganism Streptomyces hygroscopias subsp aureolacrimosus.
Artificial Pollution SourcesMilbemectin's production may result in its release to the environment through various waste streamsits use as an acaricide and insecticide(1) will result in its direct release to the environment(SRC). Milbemectin is a mixture of homologues milbemycin A3 (methyl) and milbemycin A4 (ethyl) in the ratio 3 to 7(1).
Environmental BiodegradationAEROBIC: The half-life of milbemectin in soil was reported to range from 16 to 33 days(1).
Environmental BioconcentrationAn estimated BCF of 7,000 was calculated in fish for milbemectin(SRC), using a log Kow of 5.9(1) and a regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this BCF suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is very high(SRC), provided the compound is not metabolized by the organism(SRC).
Volatilization from Water/SoilThe Henry's Law constant for milbemectin is estimated as 3.8X10-15 atm-cu m/mole(SRC) using a fragment constant estimation method(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that milbemectin is expected to be essentially nonvolatile from water surfaces(2). Milbemectin's estimated Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces is not expected to be an important environmental fate process(SRC). Milbemectin is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon a vapor pressure of 9.8X10-11 mm Hg at 20 °C(3).
