Versuchsvorschrift
A solution of p-diacetylbenzene (50 g), aniline (80 g) and benzene (120 ml) was refluxed in the presence of molecular sieve (10 g) with continuous removal of water. The crude product was crystallized from ethanol to give p-acetyl-N-(α-methyl benzylidene) aniline (XXIII). XXIII had a melting point of 205° C.
