Versuchsvorschrift

A mixture of 0.14 g of the product of Step B, 10 ml of ethanol, 20 ml of water and 3 ml of 1 N sodium hydroxide solution was refluxed overnight and the resulting clear solution was acidified with concentrated hydrochloric acid. The mixture was filtered to obtain 0.12 g of 4,5-dihydro-7,8-dichloro-4-oxoimidazo-[1,2-a]-quinoxaline-2-carboxylic acid in the form of a white crystalline solid.
