Versuchsvorschrift
To a solution of 4-[(5-bromopyridin-3-yl)acetyl]morpholine (1.26 g, 4.40 mmol) in THF (15 mL) was added a 1M solution of borane in THF (23.2 mL, 23.2 mmol). The reaction mixture was allowed to stir at 55° C. overnight and then was allowed to cool to rt and then diluted with water (100 mL) and EtOAc (100 mL). The organic solution was separated and the aqueous solution was extracted with EtOAc (2×50 mL). The organic solutions were combined, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to give a yellow oil, which was dissolved in 1N HCl (100 mL). This solution was allowed to stir at 80° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was neutralized with sat. aq. NaHCO3 (100 mL) and then extracted with EtOAc (3×50 mL). The combined organic solutions were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to give 4-[2-(5-bromopyridin-3-yl)ethyl]morpholine (0.631 g, 2.33 mmol, 53%) as a light yellow oil. LCMS (FA): Rt=0.50 min, m/z=273.0 (M+H).
