Versuchsvorschrift

To 241 mg (0.652 mmol) of (4-Ethoxy-benzyl)-(4-methylsulfanyl-phenyl)-thiophen-3-ylmethyl-amine dissolved in 6 mL methanol was added 800 mg (1.3 mmol) OXONE™ followed by 600 μL water. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 h, then partitioned between EtOAc and water, adding 1 N NaOH until the aqueous phase was neutral. The organic layer was then dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. (4-Ethoxy-benzyl)-(4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-thiophen-3-ylmethyl-amine was obtained in 92% yield (240 mg) and appeared pure by 1H NMR.
