Versuchsvorschrift

5,6-Dimethoxy-4,7-dinitro-3H-isobenzofuran-1-one (450 mg), acetic acid (15 ml) and 37% aqueous HCl (3 ml) were refluxed for 7.25 hours. The acetic acid and water were evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography (toluene-ethyl acetate-methanol 8:1:1).
