Procedure

4-(4-Benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-5-pyridin-2-yl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)benzoyl chloride hydrochloride (100 mg; 0.23 mmol) was suspended in dichloromethane (10 ml), N,O-dimethyl hydroxylamine hydrochloride (38 mg; 0.45 mmol) added followed by triethylamine (0.16 ml; 1.1 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 18 h. The mixture was evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure and the residue partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The organic phase was washed with water, saturated brine, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure. The title compound (4 mg; 4%) was obtained by high performance liquid chromatography. 1H NMR (250 MHz; CD3OD) δ: 3.74 (3H, s), 6.00 (2H, s), 6.94 (1H, d,), 7.04-7.08 (2H, m), 7.50-7.70 (2H, m), 7.85 (2H, d), 8.00-8.20 (3H, m), 8.59 (1H, d); m/z (ESMS): 415.1 [M+H]⊕.
