Procedure

Using general procedure A, indole (146 mg, 1.25 mmol)) was coupled with 2-iodoanisole (135 μL, 1.04 mmol). The crude product was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (2×15 cm; hexane-ether 15:1; 15 mL fractions). Fractions 6–10 provided 232 mg (100% yield) of the product as a colorless oil. The 1H NMR spectrum was in accord with that reported by Maiorana et al. Maiorana, S.; Baldoli, C.; Del Buttero, P.; Di Ciolo, M.; Papagni, A. Synthesis 1998, 735.
