Procedure
In the presence of 30 mg of Pd/C (5%), 142 mg (0.50 mmol) of N'-[3-(4-nitro-phenyl)-4-cyano-1H-pyrazol-5-yl]-N,N-dimethylformamidine are hydrogenated in 20 ml of THF. Filtering, concentration by evaporation and crystallization from ethyl acetate/diethyl ether/hexane yield N'-[3-(4-amino-phenyl)-4-cyano-1H-pyrazol-5-yl]-N,N-dimethylformamidine; TLC: Rf =0.07 (ethyl acetate:hexane=3:1); FAB-MS: (M+H)+ =255.
