Procedure

In 20 ml of chloroform, 3.7 g of 1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-4-carbamoyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine was dissolved, and 13 ml of trifluoroacetic acid were added thereto. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature, and subsequently was concentrated under reduced pressure to yield 4.1 g of crude 4-carbamoyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine trifluoroacetate as a crystal.
