Procedure

To a solution of tert-butyl 4-[2-(4-methanesulfonyl-phenoxymethyl)pyridin-5-yl]piperidine-1-carboxylate (Example 1) (164 mg, 0.367 mmol) in dichloromethane (1.5 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (1.5 mL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and was then concentrated in vacuo. To the residue was added saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and extracted with chloroform. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (125 mg, yield 98%).
