解説サイクリックAMP，サイクリックエーエムピー，バクテリアからほ乳動物まで，広く生物界に存在する環状のモノヌクレオチド．生体内では，アデニルサイクレースの作用により，ATPから合成され，ホスホジエステラーゼの作用によりAMPに分解される．融点219～200 ℃．[α]D－43°(水)．λmax 258 nm(ε 1.47×104，pH 7)，λmax 256 nm(ε 1.45×104，pH 2)．生体組織中の濃度は，10－6～10－7 mol L－1 程度にすぎず，ATPのようにエネルギー源として利用されているのではなく，一種の化学シグナルとしてはたらいている．図のような，ホルモン作用のセカンドメッセンジャーとしての役割が，もっともよく知られている．"多くの場合，ホルモンが細胞膜上の受容体に結合すると，膜に存在するアデニルサイクレースが活性化される．この結果，細胞内のサイクリックAMP(cAMP)のレベルが上昇し，細胞内の特定の酵素が活性化され，生理的応答が起こる．LD50 1.4 g/kg(ラット，経口)[CAS 60-92-4]森北出版「化学辞典（第2版）

一般的な説明Cyclic AMP is a second messenger molecule comprised of an adenine ribonucleotide bearing a phosphate group bound to the oxygen molecules at the 3' and 5' positions of the sugar moiety. Cyclic AMP, which is synthesized from ATP by the intracellular enzyme adenylate cyclase, modulates the activity of several hormone-dependent signal transduction pathways.
