Mechanism of Action
SINCE CHLOROSIS IS THE FIRST SIGN OF THE EFFECT OF TRIAZINES ON PLANTS, INTERFERENCE WITH CARBON DIOXIDE ASSIMILATION & SUGAR FORMATION CAN BE EXPECTED. STUDIES SHOWING THAT HILL REACTION IS INHIBITED CONFIRMED THIS. /TRIAZINES/
... Their chief mode of action appears to involve carbohydrate metabolism. The chlorinated s-triazines inhibit starch accumulation by blocking the prodn of sugars. Similar behavior has been shown for the methoxy & methylthio-s-triazines. It has been reported that the s-triazines affect the tricarboxylic acid cycle with activation of phospho-phenyl pyruvate-carboxylase causing the disappearance of sucrose & glyceric acid with the formation of aspartic & malic acids. /s-Triazines/

Painting (Pigments, Binders, and Biocides) [Category: Paint]
Thermosetting resins, resin modifiers; chemical intermediate for pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and dyestuffs
In industrial paints; addition of benzoguanamine to baking enamels based on melamine alkyd resins leads to increased gloss, elasticity, and stability toward alkali; used in the preparation of daylight fluorescent paints to increase their resistance to weathering; benzoguanamine is also an effective stabilizer for aqueous formaldehyde solutions, preventing the separation of formaldehyde polymers.
Used in amino resins for coatings because it provides excellent resistance to laundry detergent.

調製方法
製造方法Benzoguanamine closely resembles melamine in that reaction with formaldehyde gives methylol derivatives and then resinous condensates. Butylated benzoguanamine-formaldehyde resins have found some use in surface coatings. In a typical preparation, benzoguanamine (1 mole) is heated with formalin (3 mole formaldehyde) at pH 8.3 and 70-80°C until the guanamine has dissolved. n-Butanol (9 mole) and a small amount of hydrochloric acid are added and the azeotrope distilled off until removal of water is complete. Like their melamine counterparts, butylated benzoguanamine-formaldehyde resins are most commonly used in admixture with alkyd resins. The resulting coatings are very similar to those based on melamine but they show improved resistance to alkalis.
