In 45 ml of ethanol were dissolved 6.00 g of the 2'-hydroxy-4',6'-bis(methoxymethoxy)acetophenone obtained in Production Example 11 and 3.65 g of the p-methoxybenzaldehyde obtained in Production Example 25, and the solution was cooled to 0° C. and 55 of a saturated solution was cooled to 0° C. and 55 ml of a saturated solution of potassium hydroxide in ethanol was added to the solution.
