実験手順

(3RS,4RS)-4-[8-(t-Butyldimethylsilyloxy)-1-octyl]-7-methoxy-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-methylthiochroman (4.5 g, 8.29 mmol) was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (100 ml), and cooled to 0°. To this solution was added tetrabutylammonium fluoride (16.6 ml, 16.58 mmol), and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The solvent was removed by evaporation under reduced pressure and the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, which was washed with water. The organic layer was separated, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The product was purified by column chromatography on silica gel, eluting with 30% ethyl acetate in n-hexane to afford 3.3 g of the title compound as a pale yellow oil. (yield: 93.0%)
