Stirring is continued for 15 minutes at −20° C., and 1.48 g (0.005 mol) of N-[2-(2-methylphenoxymethyl)-benzoyl]-pyrrolidine dissolved in 10 ml of tetrahydrofuran are then added, and the mixture is stirred for a further 30 minutes at −20° C. 2 g of ammonium chloride and 10 ml of methanol are added and the mixture is heated under reflux for 15 minutes. The volatile components are removed under reduced pressure, the residue is admixed with water and extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic phase is dried over sodium sulphate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue crystallizes when treated with a mixture of diethyl ether and petroleum ether in the ratio of 1:1. 0.5 g (17% of theory) of 3-[2-(2-methylphenoxymethyl)-benzoyl]-triazole of melting point 179° C. is obtained.
